New Show! with Alan Parsons and The Pink Floyd Laser Spectacular.
Rehearsal in Austin,TX
Every once in a while, a concert surfaces that stands out
amongst the rest. Steve Monistere, (producer of the multimedia hit The Pink
Floyd Laser Spectacular) has teamed up with Alan Parsons (engineer for Pink
Floyd and hit producer/musician/composer for The Alan Parsons Project) to create
an evening of extraordinary music and imagery featuring both The Floyd's and
Parsons' own works performed live.
Monistere takes the Laser Spectacular to a whole new level with a live band
performing the music of The Floyd. The band, Any Colour You Like, is considered
by Parsons to be "the most authentic Floyd tribute band ever," - quite an
endorsement from such a legend. The first half of the show is a live recreation
of The Dark Side of the Moon Album with Alan Parsons at the sound console. Then,
for the second half of the show, Parsons takes the stage with his own band to
perform all the hits of The Alan Parsons Project.
The stage production is second to none. The show promises to be one of the most
beautifully crafted performances the audience will ever witness. After 23 years
the Laser Spectacular is known worldwide as the most sophisticated touring laser
show ever. The use of three giant Hi-Def video projection screens and a barrage
of special effects bring to life the music of Pink Floyd and The Alan Parsons
Live Project in a way that you have to see (and hear) to believe.
Alan Parsons - Mention Alan Parsons to several people and you'll get several
different reactions. His legend knows no bounds in the music world; to any
musician or music buff, he is known as the most famous engineer in the world,
owing greatly to his studio work with The Beatles and Pink Floyd, as well as
with Paul McCartney and Al Stewart. To anyone who grew up listening to the great
progressive rock of the 1980's, he is known as producer and co-writer of a long
string of hits by The Alan Parsons Project, including Games People Play, Time,
Eye in the Sky, and Don't Answer Me. And he was re-introduced to today's younger
generation in Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me when Mike Meyers, a
long-standing fan of Alan's Music, chose to name mastermind Dr. Evil's death ray
contraption "The Alan Parsons Project". Yeah Baby, Yeah! The Alan Parsons
Project even popped up on an episode of The Simpsons! Sirius, the lead track
from the Eye in the Sky album is perhaps best known as the Chicago Bulls theme
and is featured at countless NBA games. Most recently, Parsons' latest CD, A
Valid Path, featured David Gilmour of Pink Floyd on lead guitar.
Pink Floyd will never tour again, but with the Laser Spectacular Live, Any
Colour You Like and Alan Parsons at the sound controls, you will witness an
authentic recreation of the original Pink Floyd experience. Add the music genius
of The Alan Parsons Live Project and you have an evening to remember.
